Capitol Times: "Scott Walker is undermining democracy"

Friend -- Unbelievable. Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is refusing to hold special elections for two vacant state legislative seats, putting him in violation of the state constitution!

It's just the latest move in a long pattern of anti-democratic behavior by Walker -- from approving rigged maps to signing voter suppression legislation to dismantling the state Government Accountability Board.

But this is the year we finally hold Walker accountable. Wisconsin's governor's race is one of NDRC's top 2018 electoral targets -- and with your help, we can elect someone who will undo Walker's damage and demand fair maps.

Will you chip in to replace Scott Walker and other Republican governors with Democrats who will stand up for fair elections?

Walker knows we're coming after him -- and he admits he's scared. At a recent meeting of the Republican Governors Association, Walker called out NDRC specifically: "My biggest fear is not who my opponent's going to be. It's how much money is going to come from this Obama-Holder group, and how much can I offset that."

But here's the tricky part: Walker has many allies among right-wing megadonors like the Koch brothers. They're going to want to reward him for advancing their agenda for eight straight years. So winning this race won't be easy.

But our community was able to win in Virginia, and we can do it again in Wisconsin -- and all over the country. Pitch in today to help us invest in each of our 2018 target states and score a big win for democracy!

-- Team NDRC
